DSWP
Assessment Rules for Watersheds Released
The Ministry of
the Environment has finally released the assessment rules for
evaluating watersheds in the Drinking Source Water Protection
(DSWP) process. This highly technical document is currently posted
on the Environmental Bill of Rights (EBR) as Number
010-3866. These technical rules have been put in place to
provide firm provincial requirements for each DSWP Committee to
enforce in the assessment process when developing a DSWP plan.
Steve Hollingshead of Gartner Lee Ltd., the Ontario Stone, Sand
& Gravel Association's (OSSGA) advisor on water, has reviewed
the document and provided comments
now available on the OSSGA members-only section of web site.
Additional
comments/concerns from you should be forwarded to OSSGA's Environment
and Resources Manager Peter
White before July 31, 2008, for inclusion in the association's
official response.
New
OSSGA Directory Hot Off the Press!
The new edition of the Ontario Stone, Sand & Gravel Association's
(OSSGA) essential aggregate directory - the Source Book - is now
available.
The 2008/09
Commercial Aggregate and Membership Directory is currently being
mailed to OSSGA member companies and key decision makers in the
aggregate industry. The directory features nearly 100 quarry and
pits operators, more than 150 associate industry members, colour
maps of quarry/pit locations across Ontario, as well as related
government and trade association contacts.
The OSSGA
promotes the Source Book with its members as a year-round resource
offering a wide variety of products and services. Members are
encouraged to use it as a guide to Buy From A Member First!
The association is also promoting the Source Book with related
associations, on the OSSGA web site, and at regional meet and
greet sessions throughout Ontario.
